Controller and scope
FiddlerCrab UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Balbronner Straße 4, 14195 Berlin, Germany, represented by Dr. Clemens Chaskel. Privacy contact: admin@regulatortester.com, +49 30 69204740. This notice covers regulatortester.com, its installer, licence purchases and local CPT interface.
Hosting and shared services
Vercel hosts this website and functions configured for Frankfurt; static content uses its global CDN. Requests can include IP address, time, path, referrer, browser and response status. Secure delivery and abuse prevention rely on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; provider logs are limited by the configured hosting plan, without a separate visitor profile. This website’s own server handles account, licence, order and optional email requests. It uses the company’s existing FiddlerCrab Auth and licence database, Stripe account and transactional email provider. Required form/session data, site, version and abuse-control IP are processed only for the requested operation. Opening a public product page does not itself register an account, start checkout or subscribe you to emails.
Cookies, storage and optional analytics
The necessary localStorage entry cpt_privacy_v1 stores only choice, version and time for up to 180 days (§ 25(2) TDDDG). Invalid, expired or absent consent means analytics stays off. Choices are specific to this domain. Blocked browser storage means the next page defaults off.
Only “Accept analytics” allows Vercel Web Analytics on public product pages, based on § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. It measures aggregate visits, referring sites and coarse browser/device/region data, without advertising or profiling cookies. Query parameters and fragments are removed from the page URL before events are dispatched. No custom analytics include email, Device ID, keys or measurements. Installer, account, purchase, email-preference, withdrawal and legal pages always disable analytics.
Choose “Essential only” directly in the banner, or at any time. Withdrawing blocks new events, reloads already loaded analytics, and updates other tabs. It does not undo prior lawful processing. This consent never authorises emails or licence registration.
The requested account session uses the Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite cookie __Host-fc_licence for at most one hour. cpt-purchase-v1 and fcLicencePending in sessionStorage support requested checkout recovery and retry of completed flash reporting; the flow clears them or they expire with the tab session. They are necessary functional storage, not advertising. USB access requires browser permission when you connect.
Licence and account administration
Verified email, shared FiddlerCrab Auth identity, product, Device ID, licence tier and registration time administer device rights. Browser-reported successful flashes additionally record firmware version, mode, site and time. Those details and holder device counts are privately reported to the licence-administration inbox, even when analytics and optional email are off. This is necessary administration, not marketing: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for requested services/contracts and (f) for fraud prevention and rights administration. Registration is not proof of physical ownership or successful device boot.
Sign-in codes expire here after 10 minutes with five attempts. Keyed login abuse records expire after one day; incomplete flash attempts after one day and flash-attempt records after at most 90 days; admin outbox items after at most 30 days. Licence/contact records remain while needed to administer rights. Request correction, contact erasure or holder changes from us; removing contact information does not revoke existing offline rights. Financial evidence can require separate retention.
Optional email preferences
The installer offers two separate, initially unticked choices: “Email me firmware updates and important notices for this product” and “Email me occasional product news and offers for this product”. Entering an address, signing in or purchasing never subscribes you. Neither choice is required for installation or use. Selected email/topics are submitted only after a browser-reported successful write; changing or clearing a choice cancels unsent requests.
With consent we store email, product, self-reported board ID, flashed version, mode, site, exact consent version/topics and time in private Supabase storage in Frankfurt. Resend sends a confirmation link valid for 24 hours. An explicit confirmation is required; opening a link alone changes nothing. Every product email must include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops both topics for this email/product across boards and cancels pending signup links, without affecting licences. You may also contact admin@regulatortester.com. Basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; promotional email additionally requires express consent under § 7 UWG.
Pending requests expire after seven days. Active preferences remain until withdrawal. Plaintext email/board ID are erased within 30 days after unsubscribe; limited keyed consent evidence is kept for at most 365 days. Keyed IP abuse evidence is retained at most seven days; subscription tables do not store raw IP. Confirmation secrets are hashed. Other product, support and purchase contacts are not enrolled automatically.
Orders and withdrawal
We process holder identity, billing email/country, board IDs, order/payment references and exact terms/consent version/time. Terms, early digital delivery and acknowledgement of withdrawal consequences are recorded separately. Licence keys and recovery/delivery data are encrypted in shared Supabase storage. Resend receives the delivery email, keys, recovery link and contract attachments. A private administrative copy of paid-licence email may include the recipient, Device IDs, keys and recovery link for fulfilment and support; this is not marketing. Stripe processes payment and billing details. It is the payment provider for direct FiddlerCrab sales or, where expressly identified at checkout, the contractual seller through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe’s privacy notice explains its processing. We do not receive full card details. Bases: Art. 6(1)(b)/(c), and (f) for fraud/dispute handling.
The online withdrawal form processes name, email, contract reference and receipt time to receive the declaration, notify the responsible team and send a durable acknowledgement. It does not subscribe you or automatically decide refund eligibility. Financial, withdrawal and dispute records remain for the applicable mandatory accounting/tax retention periods and legal claims, not as a basis to keep unrelated marketing contacts.
Device data, support and recipients
Pressure readings, records, calibration, Wi-Fi settings and the signed key stay on your tester. This website does not continuously monitor it or upload its charts. Key activation and measurements work offline. Requested downloads/support reports can involve separate network requests; review reports before sending. Support reaches our Microsoft 365 FiddlerCrab shared mailbox (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)) and is kept only as needed for the enquiry, legal duties or claims.
Providers: Vercel (hosting/consented analytics), Supabase (private auth/licence/order/email-preference database in Frankfurt), Resend (email), Microsoft 365 (team mail), Stripe (payment processing and, where disclosed, merchant of record). Providers/subprocessors may operate outside the EEA. Where relevant, transfers rely on adequacy decisions including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified recipients, or EU standard contractual clauses with supplementary safeguards. Ask us for the relevant safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
Subject to statutory conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and object to legitimate-interest processing. Withdraw consent at any time without changing prior lawful processing. Contact admin@regulatortester.com. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin. Required account/contract information enables the requested service; analytics and email can be refused without loss of device functions. No solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects is made; contact support for human review of payment/identity checks.

„Essential only“ steht direkt im Banner.
Kein Verkauf personenbezogener Daten.
